My Bloody Valentine - A Little Reminiscing.....

My Bloody Valentine
A Little Reminiscing
by Dean Vanderkolk

Perhaps you've wondered to yourself, in a dark moment that you've never revealed to anyone, what it would look like if a midget with breast implants were to be skewered on a pick axe. If so, My Bloody Valentine is the film for you.

While re-watching this film on DVD, I flashed back to the night when I decided I’d actually experience this movie in the theater so that I could fully enjoy all the film had to offer. I arrived in plenty of time for the show. I looked at the board listing show times, and I inquired of the gentleman who sold the tickets.

"Have you sold out for ‘My Bloody Valentine’?"

"Nope."

"Cool."

"In fact, you're the first guy who has even asked about a ticket for that movie."

Somehow, I’m not surprised.

I head into the theater and settle in for the film. It's set in one of those towns where everyone is either just out of college or retired. Nothing in between. Consequently, many people are performing jobs that they are much too young for. At one point, I thought to myself, "There goes the bravest 14 year old police woman I've ever seen."

The plot involves a group of miners, who, years ago, were stranded in a cave in. Only one survived, chiefly because he murdered all the others in an effort to conserve the air supply. Understandable, if not condonable. This guy is in a coma when he is discovered, and remains that way for an entire year. He then wakes up, murders everyone in the hospital and slaughters about twenty teenagers who are having a kegger in the abandoned mine. WTF? He committed horrible crimes out of the survival instinct, and wakes up a serial killer?

The movie is full of plot holes, poor scripting and several times it cheats, too.

SPOLIER ALERT!!

In one scene, we clearly see the killer assault one of the leads, injuring him and locking him in a cage before murdering the other person in the scene. Obviously, our confined young lead can't possibly be the killer. WRONG!!!! He IS the killer. You see, he suffers from delusions and committed all of the murders himself, and the scene we saw was all in his head. He injured himself, killed the other person, and then locked himself in the cage. I call shenanigans on that, folks.

The movie does feature the best 3-D I had ever seen. The crew makes excellent use of deep focus (in which all of the items in the frame remain in focus, no matter if they are in the foreground or the background), and this really enhances the 3-D aspect of the film.

Too bad they didn't let me keep the glasses.

My Quest to Interview Film Maker, Kevin Smith

My Quest to Interview Film Maker, Kevin Smith

As we close in on another year, I was told as a Golden rule, to set some goals. In the latest Mooch Minute, I named several future goals I would like to reach, but left one out, something that I will call “My Quest”.

Quest - [noun] a search for an alternative that meets cognitive criteria; "the pursuit of love"; "life is more than the pursuance of fame"; "a quest for wealth"

I figured, in case you we unsure of the meaning of Quest a definition would help. While many would simply say, “Rob, is it really a quest?” Most would probably think that this might be a passing request or something that could be as easy as an email request (already did that); handled behind the scenes...I am here to enlighten you on the reason for “The Quest”.

Kevin Smith, the man behind such cult classics like Clerks 1&2, Mallrats, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, Chasing Amy and even Zack and Miri Make a Porno. He has shown that the everyday, average Joe can make it. Many find inspirations in various spots like paintings, poetry, movies. For me, it’s sometimes what other achieve is the greatest inspiration…for me, Kevin Smith has cracked the code for geeks worldwide, has reached his goal and continues to look for more.

Smith, originally known for his foul mouthed, View Askew Universe comedies is becoming someone who shares his life on many levels and proves self Humor can be the key to continued success. This is the same Kevin Smith who pokes fun at himself for his weight problems, films that have been considered bombs and goes as far to document his love affair for Fleshlights. While honesty is supposedly the best policy (at least that’s what we have been told our entire lives) so few actually follow this in modern life.

Each week, I will document on film, through pictures and on the podcast my Quest to meet and interview Kevin Smith. If you are on Twitter, follow Kevin at @thatkevinsmith and let him know, Rob Dimension just wants a few minutes of his time. With Smith releasing Red State, the timing is perfect for me; I report and review Horror Movies!! I’m perfect for this…plus, those that know me..I am a HUGE Kevin Smith fan, collecting his films (yes, even the bad ones), reading his books, buying his merch…I want to talk to Kevin and ask the questions for ALL OF US! If he is so unhappy with some much of the media…I’m his guy!!

So, if you want to help me on this quest…retweet me, email me, message me…follow me..Whatever you can do. Have an idea? Let me know…wanna help? Let me know. Smith will be in our area in March/April. Will I get my chance? Stay tuned and find out.

Mooch Minute 12/24/10 Naughty or Nice???

Mooch Minute 12/24/10 Naughty or Nice?

The fat man should be doin' his thang tonight, you know...goin' from house to house, eatting your cookies and stealing wallets...what? Oh, I meant Fat Tony, yeah...Santa is coming too. Is it too late to decide if you have been naughty or nice now? Been a doucher all year? Knocked up a couple under-age girls?...ummm..yeah, me either.

I think being naughty or nice is in the eye of the wrong or good do'er. Let's speak from experience...The Mooch, well, I have been a 50/50 split. Not always doing the right thing, but never doing the wrong thing...see what I did there? All in all, it's been a great year and I always give thanks this time of year.

Big thanks goes out to John Cannon and Sal Valente, without both of these guys, nothing that has happened this year would have gotten done. I have always been a guy that doesn't forget where I came from, so for those two guys, I wish them nothing but the best..seriously.

Opportunities have come my way, but I have worked my ass off to get a lot of them. I am looking forward into 2011 and see a great future. Things I want to achieve in 2011:

  • Learn the editing process more
  • Write and direct a short film
  • Build our Podcast to large listening fan base
  • Have one of the most fun TV/Web series out
  • Get more involved in the Comic industry
  • Act in at least 5 films
  • Perform Stand Up Comedy

Ok, so as you can see...big list, but I am pretty focused. Merry Christmas everyone....Enjoy your time with your families!!

Kevin Smith's Red State trailer...and it looks great

Kevin Smith’s Ventures into Horror with Red State

As most know, I’m a Smith follower, so was no surprise when I scooped every site with the release of the Red State trailer. Smith has been releasing images weekly via his twitter auctions and random tidbits on his podcasts.

The plot revolves around a group of kids as they encounter a crazed preacher (based on Fred Phelps, founder of the Westboro Baptist Church), who gives a whole new meaning to the term "extreme fundamentalism."

Stepping out of the View Askew universe and into Horror is exciting for me, I am looking forward to seeing the end result.

Mooch Minute 12/23/10 - Angry Shoppers & On Your List

Mooch Minute 12/23/10 - Angry Shoppers & On Your List

Tis the season to be grumpy...wow, so the Mooch took his little ones to the mall last night. I am always shocked by people's anger around the holidays, I mean..I am angry all the time, it's not seasonal. From the loss of the common "Thank you" and " Excuse me" to just being downright shitty. I think the best way to look at the Holidays is : If you are pissed that you have to give gifts, then don't give them. It's that simple. Gift giving is a way to show thanks, admiration or out of friendship.

Mooch thought - if you are heading out shopping between now and Christmas eve...up until 5pm or whenever the store closes, be nice. Remember the people working have lives, the other shoppers are feeling the pinch, just like you. Take the extra second and say "Thanks" or "Excuse me"...just how I recognized that those people didn't...maybe someone will recognize that you did!

What's on your list? For the Mooch...it's gonna be a very Smchistmas..if that's even pronouncable. When we made the recent trip over to Kevin Smith's comic shop in Red Bank, NJ...Jay and Silent Bob's Secret Stash, I grabbed a bunch of stuff for Christmas...not just for me, but for the entire family.

Here are a few of the items:
  • Monroeville Zombies Sweatshirt
  • Night of the Living Kev (Autographed zombie version InAction figure)
  • Clerks Lunch Box (1 for ea of my kids ...they were $5 each...plus look awesome)
  • Older Yet None the Wiser (InAction figure)
  • Jay and Silent Bob T shirt (for my son...)
  • Clerks T shirt (for my lovely Wife)
  • My Boring Ass Life Book by Smith
  • plus a few other dvds, odds and ends....
Whats crazy...I will head over again and grab some more stuff. I actually want to Clerks X dvd set, the 10 year anniversary release..I only see it over there...plus I still want a Mooby's Sweatshirt, I am a big fan of Clerks 2. I know, crazy stuff...what can I say...the dude's an inspiration for someone like me - this is how I see myself (not self loathing at all either, just realistic) - I am a new film maker, I will call myself that...I write about what I know and involve my friends and instead of just talking about it...I'm doing it.

Not sure if another Mooch Minute will be up before Christmas but if not - Merry Christmas to all

Say....can I borrow a couple of bucks???

Being a Gamer – The Women’s Perspective

Being a Gamer – The Women’s Perspective

This past weekend, we were taping some Web stuff and an interesting discussion came up – What is a Women’s Perspective in Gaming? Now, Mooch (Rob) and Pigamortis (Sal) are a couple of fair gaming fellows, so we wanted to get to the bottom of this.

The conversation touched on some of these topics:

• On being a female in a man’s role playing world.

• How to avoid being ignored and stepping up to be a leader.

• The problems with smell, attitudes and ego.

Sal has been a Dungeon Master for over 10 years, but a lifetime player, while I played a lot as a younger kid, but recently (like 3 yrs ago) restarted playing again. We sat, listened and watched as they shared stories and some of the same points were brought up.

We came up with a few simple, basic questions for Alicia Still, who does so much for the show (co-producing, camera, public relations)…she makes us the media darlings we are. Also, my Wife Kim, who plays Demonica was the other victim…..I mean person we asked. They are both Table Top Gamers, as well as others (WoW) and both can be quiet and speak up…trust us…we know.

1 – How did you become involved in the Gaming community?

Alicia - I guess initially, it's my 4th grade teacher’s entire fault. I think after 40 years of teaching she could recognize the type of students that could benefit from nerdery and escapism. She gave me Lord of the Rings and the Chronicles of Narnia, and put me in a book club with other kids that had the same interest in the fantasy genre; those kids would later be the boys I played my first D&D campaign with. Having several excellent gaming stores, as well as a fantasy LARP local definitely contributed to it. I think pre-internet, if those things had not been just down the road I would have not been exposed to gaming until I was much older.

Kim - My husband opened a gaming store a few years back. He thought it was very important for us to learn how to play all the games we offered in the store. I was an avid video game player as I have enjoying playing since I was really young. So enjoying other games came easy to me. But all of my roleplaying experience was in the controlled setting of a store. I have no experience playing in someone house.

2 – What is it about table top, role playing games that you enjoy?

Alicia - The escapism and the story. I have the luxury of a phenomenal DM that can tell an amazing story and draw the pictures and voice the NPCs to go along with it. I've played campaigns with other people where they are by the book, and while enjoyable, nothing will ever be as good as campaigns with my current DM.

Kim - I enjoyed getting to play out adventures as different character classes. Getting to explore the dark side of me, playing Vampire the Masquerade. Getting to chose a path of having to learn from each of my killings, made me need to use my imagination. Plus with playing D&D, as a Half Elf Rogue. Having to use my charisma to work over the other party members. I was always great at rolling for my skills, but battling was always very different. As I was known in the party as the player that always rolls 1 on my d20. Regardless of which die, I still seemed to roll a lot of 1's. So they started saying I Kim'd it. So anytime someone rolled a one it was then known as “kim'd it”. Which I thought was funny. I've gotten to work with a few DM's. I much prefer the roleplaying versus the hack/slash, due to my character of choice is never a fighter. Not that I wouldn't enjoy it with a different character. So I know from experience that some DM's only award XP for killing, where other award for actual roleplaying.

3 – What are feelings about being a Female in a Man’s gaming world?

Alicia - First of all guys are loud and they are gross. Whoever yells the loudest is the most right. Even after 20 years of table topping I am still coming to terms with that. Often times I feel that I get interrupted and stepped on because I am not as loud or as aggressive. Sometimes it demotivates me when I play, I will sit quiet until combat happens after I am interrupted too much. Which makes me not enjoy the game, because I like role playing, not kill-loot-kill.

The other thing is they are gross, there is this odor of ass and balls and stale Chinese food that only exists during gaming. There is no escaping it, no amount of air freshner, incense, or opening the windows can ever make it go away. I always wear a hoodie to games, even in the summer, so I can hide my nose in it to occasionally escape the smell.

Although these people are few, there are some players that will never, ever respect a female for an assortment of reasons. 1) They have been rejected too much in their lives and are angry at everything with lady parts. 2) They feel that there is no way a woman would ever be interested in gaming for any other purpose than to meet guys. Those guys will hit on you relentlessly until eventually they turn in to #1. 3) The guys that have never interacted with a non-relative female. I can't even begin to explain how to interact with these guys. If you're nice they think you want to do them, if you're not nice enough you're a "bitch". When I was younger I saw a lot of girls use the hell out of guys like this, because these guys will do whatever you want if you talk to them, even more so if you acknowledge them in public. It's a terrible abuse of lady parts. Eventually these guys turn in to #1 too, because they get so screwed over by girls.

Kim - For the most part I enjoyed playing with the guys. I grew up a tomboy, so I'm use to playing with all boys. So as long as they treated me fairly, I didn't have any issues. But don't steal my kill when it only has a few hit points left. That totally gets me agitated. If you want to see me get pissed off, just kill something I've battled for a few rounds.

4 – How do you combat being spoken for or verbally ignored?

Alicia - Sometimes I bottle it up for months and then scream at everyone in game. This is not a good course of action. I do not recommend this. The best way to handle it is to let the DM know it's happening, and who is doing it. Then I try to address it with that person politely. If that doesn't work, well then it's time for a little attitude. I've also tossed around the idea of buying a mega phone or an air horn, but I don't want to frighten the DM's dog.

Kim - Was never verbal ignored or spoken for. Maybe it's because we were playing in our store and had a good group to play with for the most part. I only had issues with 2 players for not wanting to play as a group or for constant distractions or just being obnoxious.

5 – Advice for other Females who feel the same way?

Alicia - Let's play a game together? I've never met enough female gamers to actually have an all girl campaign. Right now I know 4 and one lives in Ohio.

Kim - Get use to the smells of the typical gamer. Try to fit in with the guys. Try playing in a store atmosphere as they will have to play by the rules and are told about hygiene.

6 – Advice for an entire group that has women players? What should the DM look for?

Alicia - "Don't be a dick." - Wil Wheaton

If everyone followed that rule in gaming and in life everything would be so much better. This isn't even a male/female thing it's a loud/quiet thing. Give your quieter players a chance to speak. The DM should just keep an eye out to make sure that person is getting their attention when they request it.
I also want to put this out there for female gamers. Do not date the guys in your gaming group. If you're serious about table topping, just DO NOT DO THIS. It ruins the dynamic of the group, creates months of awkwardness, and if you break up usually one of you has to quit, and guess what, it's probably not him that's going to be asked to leave.

Kim - The DM should find out if the group all agrees to play hack/slash or if they are more into roleplaying. The DM may need to separate the group and run two different sessions. As it is hard to convince a large group either way. If the whole group is happy doing hack/slash then go for it, but if they don't all agree then it will cause problems in the group.

LET ME IN: CROSSROADS #1 Comic Review

COMIC REVIEW

LET ME IN: CROSSROADS #1

STORY: Marc Andreyko
ART: Patric Reynolds
PUBLISHER: Dark Horse Comics

REVIEW: Mark Mackner

As anyone with any taste can tell you, LET THE RIGHT ONE IN is easily the best vampire movie of the last decade. I didn’t get a chance to see the American remake yet, but I’ve heard good things. LET ME IN: CROSSROADS is the official prelude to the American film. What causes young girl vamp Abby and her mysterious caretaker to set up shop in a new town at the beginning of the movie? Why does Abby’s budding friendship with a young boy raise a red flag for the caretaker? This comic series seeks to answer those questions, in a presumably horrific fashion.

One thing that I find so intriguing about Abby (her name is Eli in the novel and the original film) and her caretaker is the mystery surrounding them. She leaves little nuggets here and there about her history, but there are still so many questions. Who exactly IS the caretaker? What’s his relationship to her? Why does he commit such atrocious acts in order to protect her and provide for her? How was she “turned”? How did she get by before she met the caretaker?

THAT’S what makes these characters so compelling. In this age of prequels and remakes that over-explain the origins of everyone from Wolverine to Willy Wonka (When it’s usually best left a secret), it’s refreshing to have characters that leave you wondering. Which is precisely WHY a prequel to this particular story is so alarming. My first thought was NOOOOO!!!! Don’t tell me any more about these characters! We know just enough to care about them and still by fascinated by them. Any more information will shatter the mystique, and that could ruin everything.

But, I’m happy to report that this new series from Dark Horse has no intention of shattering any mystique whatsoever. It’s merely an earlier chapter in the lives of Abby and her caretaker. A previous adventure, if you will. All the mystery is still there, the characters are simply in another setting, in a different situation.

This time, instead of the frozen, snowy backdrops of the films, we get a dried-up dustbowl in the Midwest. Instead of teen bullies, the villains are a greedy real estate tycoon and his drunken mess of a son-in-law. Seems they want to build on Abby and her caretaker’s property, and are trying to force them to move out. I’m gonna go out on a limb here and say that I’m pretty sure they’re gonna end up dead. That’s the inherent problem with prequels. It’s kinda difficult to build up suspense when you already know that the protagonists can’t be killed off. And the villains here are such one-note douchebags that you know they’re going to meet with a gruesome fate. These kinds of guys never see the light and change their ways in horror films/comics. They’re just written to be so unrepentantly evil that when they finally get their bloody comeuppance, you’re cheering it on.

This is one of those monster stories where the protagonist may be a monster, but the regular humans are the REAL monsters. It’s a timeless theme, and I’m sure there are many creative interpretations of it yet to be seen.

Another captivating element to the story is the fact that Abby was turned at a very young age, and now she’s trapped in a child’s body forever. She’s been around for ages, but she’ll never know what it’s like to be treated as an adult. Even her only friend, the caretaker, takes a parental role in her life. That expands the dramatic possibilities here, and makes Abby an understandably melancholy and tragic figure.

So far, there’s nothing uniquely gripping about this new story, but the artwork is terrific, and as I’ve said, the characters continue to be untainted by too much backstory.

If you felt the films and novel said everything that needed to be said about Abby/Eli, then there’s really no reason to get this. BUT, if you found yourself enthralled with the character, and wish to support her rise as a potential multimedia horror icon and believe that she has many thrilling stories yet to be told, then get to your local comic shop, and pick this up!

As we gear up for our 1st Epic Fail Podcast, we had a great discussion about the Spokesperson for Dungeons and Dragons question we aske. Below is a list of Famous people that play D&D.

34. Jon Favreau (Another one with a quote! "I'm a very lazy person by nature. I have to be really engaged, and then I go straight from lazy to obsessive. I couldn't study chemistry, but I could memorize all the books for Dungeons and Dragons. It was ridiculous.")

Epic Fail - Your Spokesperson for Dungeons and Dragons is?

Pig and Mooch Epic Fail Podcast #1

Your Spokesperson for Dungeons and Dragon is?

As The Pig and Mooch set up for the 1st Epic Fail (I’m sure they will have many more) Podcast our nerd minds got to thinking – If you had your choice, who do you name as the Spokesperson for Dungeons and Dragons?

While discussing this classic Role playing juggernaut, Mooch and Pig were trying to figure out who would be the person to represent the Dungeons and Dragons community. We could all piss and moan about the job that Wizards of the Coast does, from adding upgrades for 4th edition to altering the premise for the sake of making more money. We are role players…we are broke…we hunt for the latest Star Wars figures at 10am at Toys r Us…BUT, we need a voice and well, a face. Who is your choice?

Vin Diesel made his nerdness known over the summer, but is he our best candidate? Fast, Furious and a d20? Come on gamers….we want to know who is your choice…message us on FB, Twitter or by email – RobDimension@msn.com

Mooch Minute 12/17/10 - Driving without directions

"Driving without Directions"

Nice title huh? It's my attempt at witty humor, my metaphor for my current writing. Yesterday I started writing the Mooch Minute, had some views, so I will continue writing. How interesting will it be? That will depend on my day to day thoughts….which vary from The Office tweets to cool Lunch boxes, sorry….my mind wanders.

I was picking my Daughter up from work and was envisioning the opening of the new show. I jotted down my ideas, now the hard part is to transfer idea to film. Sounds like a “who cares” moment, but the opening is important…you know how people say; you get one chance to make a first impression? I think that easily transfer to anything you’re watching too. Who knows…maybe I am over thinking.

You ever have the out of body experience...but based on age? It happened yesterday as I was walking around, aimlessly in Target, looking for gifts. I was in the electronics selection...then it hit me..."What the hell is all this shit?" I instantly felt like an old man, confused and the person I used to make fun of. Out of touch? It's the mental denial factor, thinking that I am not old, I'm hip....nope...I'm old.

The Living Corpse - Hack/Slash Crossover makes a Girl's heart go pitter patter

The Living Corpse - Hack/Slash Crossover makes a Girl's heart go pitter patter
by: Demonica (Kim Dimension)

Well, it’s me Demonica again…your resident Fan Girl and Head Demon in Charge, or better known as Kim Dimension, and I’m back with another comic review. Currently I have been hooked on reading Hack/Slash by Tim Seeley. I love Tim’s work with my main girl Cassie Hack. Who doesn’t love an ass kicking hero, especially when she is a girl? So, I just finished reading Hack/Slash Omnibus 3 and as usual, it left me wanting more. Thanks Tim for creating such a great character, it makes this girl proud to know that us females have a place in the slasher’s world.

I loved the last chapter titled, “The Living Corpse Annual #1: Guest Starring Hack/Slash” – It was written by Ken Haeser. Such a fan of the style that Buz Hasson & Ken Haeser’s draw Cassie, it borders on Japanese Anime, but still comes off classy and clean. The colors are vibrant and detail is given to everything, such great world they created.

Why is it that all young couples always seem to find trouble when they go into the woods to get some action? Can’t kids find another place to go for sex? Like an abandoned cabin…oh wait, that might be bad…how about when your Parents leave? Nah, bad idea on that one too. Geez, with all the evil that lurks in the woods, don’t you know that the woods are almost certain death? Still it still makes a great backdrop for this story.

Having The Living Corpse with Hack only makes it more interesting. We quickly learn that Cassie and Corpse are old friends….. imagine friends like them? Then throwing the Jersey Devil into the mix makes it more enjoyable. Vlad and Cassie get to take down the Jersey Devil, or should I say…beat the hell out of him! Vlad stumbles into The Living Corpse, or just Corpse as his friends call him (*wink). Corpse didn’t know Vlad, resulting in a fisticuffs’ meet up, cut short by Cassie, as she comes to Vlad’s rescue.

Corpse realizes that it is the one and only Cassie Hack (my note- let’s see these guys together again, big fan of these two together). As Cassie & Corpse begin to catch up, the Jersey Devil’s mother, who now is less than happy about the death of her little one, comes after them. We quickly discover Mrs. Devil’s ability, I will call it “Winged Demon Vagina Assault”, unleashes holy hell upon our heroes. It takes Vlad’s smart thinking to take down the mother of the Jersey Devil. Corpse as a tampon?…hmmm, interesting. Corpse, the victor, is now covered in the end trails of the mother and the woods are yet again safe for pre-adolescent, unsafe sex. Can’t wait to read more from The Living Corpse & Hack/Slash characters. Maybe someday, they will get to meet again…..I will hold my breath if it will help!

Thanks for a great chapter guys! Slay ya later Comic geeks....xoxo Demonica

Well, interest has been high about the new show...which is great. I guess from my stand point, the nerves are starting to twitch, you know...the bubble guts.

When we started Late Night at the Horror Hotel we had nothing to lose, we were new so failure would be easy to accept. Not that we are popular, award winning or even winners at this point, but we still made some waves since March. This time around, we are doing something much different, so I look at it as a bigger challenge. We are working on this new show, writing, directing and editing is all on us.

Lately, I feel like I have been on Kevin Smith overload, hey....we each find our own motivation differently. His style of films, from jokes to content just fit my current mindset. While writing, I look for the potty humor, the things that people over look and what doesn't matter to almost everyone...matters to me. Kinda weird, could be me hitting 40 this year, but my train of thought seems to be reverting backwards...haha. Very childish.

Anyways, as we embark on another weekend of filming....let's see where this road leads us. Hopefully, anyone that enjoyed Late Night will now take a look at NecroCOMICon.....we are trying to give you something different, yet fimilar...if that makes sense.

Say....can I borrow $5???

Pig and Mooch Podcast - "Epic Fail" launches in January

Pig and Mooch Podcast - "Epic Fail" launches in January

Is it possible to self promote yourself anymore? Can Mooch (played by Rob Dimension) and Pigamortis (voiced by Sal Valente) whore themselves in any other forms of media? With NecroCOMICon TV getting ready to launch, the duo is under the impression that people want to hear more from them….well; maybe they are on to something......Enter - EPIC FAIL

What on Earth would a Mooch and Pig even discuss on EPIC FAIL?

They are glad you asked:

Movie reviews – All kinds of Films (let them watch and review your film)

Gaming – aspects of Gaming (from Dungeons & Dragons to Collectible Card games, even Video Games)

Comics – from what titles they like and what they don’t like

Opinions on Life – wow…really? We recommend not taking their Life lessons into consideration

War on Words – known as part-time Cyber Bullies.... what will happen when they vent and let loose?

Dimension had this to say “It’s basically Nerd talk 101, except we are full of shit. Like all nerds, we are under the belief that our opinion matters, when in fact…it doesn’t. "We find some things funny, that others don’t…..so I am expecting a Train wreck”, Valente quickly added.

Kim Dimension who is a new character, Demonica on the NecroCOMICon show, added “Their sense of humor is warped and twisted. They have no filter.” “They enjoy pushing the envelope when they can. This will give people a better idea of what we (Kim and I) have to deal with when shooting the Tv/Web series" says Alicia Still, who works on production and helps with publicity.

When asking Valente on format for the podcast, we were greeted with this answer “We don’t really have a format, we are just gonna ramble and see what comes out”. Sounds like a well laid out plan…..ummm, not really. Look for this Train wreck available on www.NecroCOMIContv.com starting in January.

American Mary......a pleasant mystery Revealed

American Mary - A pleasant mystery Revealed
by: Rob Dimension

This past weekend, the teaser trailer for the new film, American Mary by Jen and Sylvia Soska, found it's way to the internet. I was lucky enough to have a chance to view the teaser, prior to the public release, and sat in amazement as the creators of Dead Hooker in a Truck, have once again peeked my interest.

The Twisted Twins seem to know what Horror fans want to see. Quickly becoming leaders in the Women's Directors movement, earning their spot amogst some of the best envisionists. The vagueness (it's early and I'm not sure this is even a word...but go with it) of the trailer creates interest, thus doing it's job. I have my own conclusions as to the direction the Soska's are taking, but take a minute and draw your own......it's a 52 second tease that will make butterflies in any Horror fans belly flutter.

Visit http://www.twistedtwinsproductions.net/ for more info and Congrats to the Twisted Twins, your making us all proud!
