Late Night at the Horror Hotel gets a 5 out of 5 Review!!

Evan Brehany from JournalismG2KM blogging site, mainly focused around Kaiju and Sci-Fi took a look at our Tv show and scored it a whopping 5 out of 5!!! His Favorite episode is #3 - Gamera the Invincible (you can actually watch that episode on the right side of the page...right now!!)

Evan says : "This, and three other episodes I have seen have proved to me that this is a great show." Wow, thanks Evan, glad you liked it. This means a lot to us, as everyone works EXTREMELY hard to make the show what it is.

Dirty Philly Switch Magic Card trick on Sale now!

The Dirty Philly Switch Card Trick
$9.00 shipped anywhere in the US!!

"Ever heard of the 3 Card Monte? You might be ready for the Dirty Philly Switch...You Can NOT Lose!!!"

If you have seen it performed, you know how easy and effective anyone can pull it off. The crew from The Late Night at the Horror Hotel show are always traveling and entertaining (or trying too); this trick breaks the ice and is excellent to trick your friends with.

Based on the 3 Card Monte, this version has a twist and you simply cannot lose! Being from Philly, we are always being accused of talking to fast and trying to pull a fast one, this is exactly the case here. You are giving your “Victim” a 50% chance to pick the “Money Card”, but they never will and it’s in plain sight. The “Money” card will be gone, nowhere to be found…like it had been switched!

This Trick comes with easy to follow instructions and is ready right out of the package...fool your friends!! This Trick is Skill Level 1 (Easiest) but is super effective - when you see Rob and John in person, ask them to perform this for you, just don't wager any money!!

As seen on the World-Wide event for 100 Years of Monster Movies, the guys from Late Night at the Horror Hotel host Yongary: Monster from the Deep and then Gappa: Monster from the Prehistoric Planet as they present “Freshly Squeezed Kaijuice.”

Highlights from this Special 2 hour Extravaganza are John proving to Rob that mind over matter really can work, as John sticks a needle through Dimension’s arm. A wild animal bites off more than he can chew and  finally, someone needs to give Dimension a hand. Plus, has anyone seen the Hearse? Kurt the Magician shows us some “REAL” Magic and Dimension shows what he does with his free time in “Upskit in the Dungeon”. John makes Buttermilk Chicken in a Creature Cooking Segment…movie reviews and even some “On the Road” directly from Kim’s Krypt and Severed Sinema.

Exhumed Films - Fantastic for Horror Fans

Late Night hits Exhumed Films
by Rob Dimension

Oh, what a difference a week makes. Some may know, but most may not, but John, Pigamortis and myself were all sick as dogs this past week. Fresh from MonsterMania, which John was actually sick during...I ended up with Strep Throat on Monday and well, Pigamortis had some sort of Plague we think..haha. So sorry for the lack of updates last week.

This past Friday, John and myself headed to Exhumed Films, located at the International House, 3701 Chestnut St in Philadelphia. Right off the bat, this was our kind of crowd...young, college and probably many that would watch our show (hopefully). We met up with Joseph, our contact and part owner of the Cult Classic DVD supplier, Diabolik DVD and we were ready for The Double Dose of EVILLLLLLLLL!!! Scared yet? Okay, walking in, the theater was amazing...seriously. Very clean, spacious and a great crowd.

I am picky when I go to watch my Cult Classics...I immediately asked the tough question : Do you just run dvds? The answer...NO, they use both 16mm and 35 mm prints. They even run vintage trailers, talk about the best experience possible. We shot some footage, did an interview and entertained the masses (okay, that's pushing it) but we did have fun. So, be on the look out for all that stuff!

The big event is just around the corner for them and TICKETS are ALMOST Sold Out!!!

SATURDAY, OCT. 30TH TO SUNDAY, OCT. 31ST 2010: 24 HOUR HORROR-THON PART IV
Doors open at 11am on Saturday, show starts at 12pm. Tickets: $25 ($26 in advance)
Make sure you visit them NOW and get your tickets - www.ExhumedFilms.com

[Rec 2] Review - As good as the first??

[Rec 2] Movie Review
by: Rob Dimension

Well, I finally got to see Spanish Horror film [REC 2], the sequel to the 2007 Hit [REC] and reason the US made Quarantine, this weekend. After all the hype, plus after being blown away by the original, I have been hunting around and it fell into my lap...courtesy of www.Diabolikdvd.com

The original dealt with a different storyline than the American remake, Possession vs Rabies. [REC] was amazing, while many scenes were shot very similar, Quarantine just couldn't match [REC]...plain and simple. [REC] was much more creepy and just had a better "Scary" feel.Once Part 2 was announced, I just had to see it.

[REC 2] takes place immediately after [REC] finishes. The search and recovery team is headed into the Apt building but quickly realize that the supposed "Virus" is a little different that an "Air borne" disease, they thought they were controlling. The leader of the group, turns out to be a Priest and is now searching for the "Host" of this Possession type virus. This becomes fun for the viewer, without being able to Kill each "infected" person, plus a handful of kids...the group must now try to draw blood to test. The mission is find the host, test the blood and make it out ALIVE!!

This film is well worth looking for. Plenty of "Jump" scenes, some great camera angles and I am totally digging the "Possession" over Rabies. If you enjoyed Quarantine (and I really did...it was a really good, fun film), do yourself a favor...find [REC] and watch it. [REC 2] does not disappoint and is well worth the time to seek it out (It's not hard to find, I'm just lazy).

How I spent my summer vacation…at Monster Mania

How I spent my summer vacation…at Monster Mania

On the weekend of August 20-22 Late Night at the Horror Hotel descended upon the convention event of the summer, or August anyways, known simply as Monster Mania. The preparation and planning that went into our mission to conquer the land of horror was tedious and laborious, but we went into it well stocked and armed to the teeth. I mean how can you describe such an event and experience as what we had gone through…the carnage, the bloodshed and the outrageous prices you had to pay for a bottle of water and a bagel, I mean come on people.

Anyways the morning of August 20th we arrived to on the scene with little pomp and circumstance so as to come in under the radar. We began to set-up our mission control headquarters making sure we had the proper necessities ready go like food, water, electricity and change for the dvds. As Rob, Pig and myself got dug into our corner our other allies arrived on the scene to give us support. They all trickled in table by table and set-up their base of operations while we surveyed the area and greeted our fellow neighbors. Our first contact was with Andrew Hubatsek and Sandi, his girlfriend, who were the nicest of people and when the fire fight of fans would begin you would defiantly want them to be on your side. They were extremely friendly and we all bonded and talked about everything and anything. They were definitely good allies to have in this impending mission. Soon after that we made our next contact with Felissa Rose and her husband, who again were the nicest of people. Felissa was a fighter and scrapper and was ready for the convention mission…and she kept yelling something about size contest, not sure what that was all about. So there we were in our corner of the Terrace room at the Crowne Plaza in Cherry Hill NJ with our fighting partners Andrew and Felissa. A little bit later before the “fit hit the shan” we made another contact with Miko Hughes who turned out to be a technical genius and a fantastically funny guy.

As the hands on the clock ticked by we all knew as the doors opened there would be wave after wave of fans coming in and attacking us. We knew we had to stand strong and as one in order to make sure that we did not falter. As we battled the waves of people coming at us throughout the days we all did our part in order to keep the spirits high even though I was sick through the entire weekend. Andrew relied on his fear factor to keep the people at bay because all we heard from people who were at his table was the statement “that was the scariest thing I had ever seen, I couldn’t sleep for weeks” and then Felissa with her in your face and take no prisoners attitude as she helped in the side mission of operation photo bomb.  Pig and I did our part as best as we could, but Rob stood out in his efforts as he dazzled and amazed the people with magic and illusion as best as he could.

We met other fellow warrior fighters throughout the weekend who did their part in fighting the waves of fans and their biological warfare BO weapons. Such notable people as the guys from Zombie Hunters City of the Dead, Ben and Kristy from Fright Rags, and Ken & Buz from The Living Corpse Comics were true standouts in making this a victorious weekend.  As well, I can’t not mention the general behind the whole campaign, Dave, who has done this year after year and established such a great event. We made a number of other great contacts and got accomplished a lot in the aspect of networking and getting the name out there.

I had been one of those attacking fans in years past and it was much more different being on the other side of the table. It was an eye opening experience to see what it was like on the other side of the war and being one of the people that was mobbed and surrounded at all times…people buying your merchandise and wanting autographs and pictures, they say war is hell…and it was, but a good hell with streets of gold and psychotic little demon gummy bears singing the whole time. ..maybe that’s my cough medicine talking.

At the end of the day Sunday we were all war torn and worse for wear and we dragged from little sleep and sickness that had taken one of our soldiers out of commission, that being Pig and then soon to be another later in the day. Once the doors had been closed we could breathe a sigh of relief and catch our breath. We talked about our experiences throughout the weekend, exchanged contact information and made our goodbyes. It was a tiring weekend and I am still recovering from it, but I would definitely do it again and on a side not I want to say thanks to Rob’s family for helping out, they were awesome to have there and be around.

Be safe and make sure fight the good fight against body odor,
John Cannon

Repo The Genetic Opera - My review comes in a little glass vial

So, since people were talking about this last night on my Facebook, I wanted to go ahead and re post  this review I did for Repo last February. Have a look:

Repo – The Genetic Opera Review
by Rob Dimension

It’s been years since Horror fans had a musical to grab on to; our “go-to” guy was always “The Rocky Horror Picture Show”. Truly a classic. Horror fans lately,  have to deal with being subjected to horrible remakes, lousy, no frills DVD releases and just terrible PG-13 dribble. This review will probably be all over the place, simply because I am actually excited about this one…so much stuff to get out…a serious Horror geek out.

In 2008 a little musical designed for Horror fans slipped under many radars including my own. Repo – The Genetic Opera was dubbed “Goth Opera”, while that might be a generalized opinion, it does not do this film justice. The original price tag of $19.99 was probably what made many opt to pass on this, look we are all afraid to even spend $15 on non-sense, trust me...I have been down this road before. I make these decisions weekly in front of the DVD section. I try to give many low budget, independent filmmakers a chance. Those that know me, really do know this to be true. I have written numerous reviews for all levels of Horror films, including some amazing films that I have pimped out over the years. Repo won me over, 90 minutes of grave robbing, murder, blood and guts…and of course song.

Repo has a decent cast of some fairly new comers like Alexa Vega (Spy Kids, The Sleepover) and Ogre to media queen Paris Hilton (Simple Life, House of Wax) to veteran actors like Anthony Steward Head from Buffy the Vampire Slayer fame, Bill Moseley who is known by Horror fans for his portrayal of Otis in House of 1,000 Corpses and Devils Rejects) and Paul Sorvino (Goodfellas).

Synopsis - Repo is the story of a not-so distant worldwide epidemic of organ failures that just affect the entire planet. Out of this tragedy emerges a savior: Geneco, a bio-tech company that offers organ transplants …for a price. Those who miss their payments are scheduled for repossession… and hunted by the REPO man.

Our leads are Alexa Vega, very pretty Shilo is born with a blood disease, but she risks it all for the possibility of a cure. The Repo man is played by Anthony Stewart Head who pulls double duty between the sympathetic Father and the Repo Man, forced by Rotti Largo to “take back the parts”. Rotti Largo (Sorvino) tries to play both sides as well, masking himself as a savior, only to be discovered as an underhanded killer.

Trust me when I say this, I never thought that Paris Hilton could be good in anything. She is awesome in this film playing the daughter of Geneco creator Rotti Largo. Good ole’ Amber Sweet (Hilton) is addicted to a form of pain killers and plastic surgery. Bill Moseley doesn’t disappoint either, his portrayal of Luigi Largo is hilarious, just over the top antics similar to Otis from Rejects, and Moseley is great. Orge who plays Pavi Largo is like a modern version of Leatherface, but doesn’t come off like a cheap rip-off. Just a great supporting cast that deliver right from the get go.

Personally, I have a crush on “Blind Mag”, a character that was born blind. Mag is given the ability to see by signing her life away in a contract to sing for GeneCo Genetic Opera. She is marked for repossession and is set to deliver her final performance for the company. This leads to a great ending of reveal told through song, drama and of course, blood.

I never thought I would enjoy any kind of musical this much, especially an Opera…but come on…it’s Horror. The gore factor lacks a little, the effects are very simple but the overall presentation of the landscape, colors and set designs make up for this. The red splashes in combination of the grey and bland tones mix perfect. The futuristic element is not over done but still visually stunning enough to suspend believe. The film was criticized because of its small set scale, I think it provides and extra charm. Repo was designed to be presented on stage, the “feel” of this film transitions nicely.

The Music – I really enjoy the music here, between the Father and Daughter conversations, to the evil Largo singing about his unworthy children. Blind Mag stole my heart; the Grave Robber plays the narrator/pitch man and does a tremendous job. I will be picking up the soundtrack.

Final Word – It’s worth picking up if you enjoyed Rocky Horror and want to see something different. If you are a horror fan, this is a must have. If you are looking for simple cheap thrills and PG-13 crap, skip it and stick to films that have no substance. This film is produced from the people who brought you the Saw films (which have hit or miss in the 6 releases), but I would support Twisted Pictures if a sequel ever came out.

What the heck is a DeadNeck Dave? and who is Rhonda?

DeadNeck Dave - Straight from the Grave gets a job?

So, we just got off the phone with John Cannon and he was as surprised as anyone else. When asked "Who is DeadNeck Dave?", this is what John had to say, "I don't know any DeadNeck Dave, but seeing as you are asking me about him, I can assume we have a new employee at the Hotel." Cannon also added, "While we have been shooting A Lot of episodes and footage, things are spiraling out of control. Since the arrival of Pigamortis, the flood gates have opened with mayhem. If dealing with Dimension hasn't been bad enough, wait until you see just how bad things get."

We tried to call Rob Dimension and of course, got no answer. We are starting to think he can't operate a phone but, we did hear from Pigamortis, who from the sounds of it, was partying very heavily. "DeadNeck Dave is straight from the Grave, ya know. Him and Rhonda are gonna handle the gardening and hopefully they don't have any knock down drag out fights. If Deadneck Dave needs to punch someone, I volunteer Dimension".

From what we are learning, DeadNeck Dave (and we are assuming Rhonda) will be at MonsterMania (www.monstermania.net) in Cherry Hill, NJ this week with the rest of the Late Night at the Horror Hotel crew. Stop by the table and check out the pre-orders deal for "Freshly Squeezed Kaijuice", their big 2 Hour Extravaganza release. They may also have a pre-order for the next 2 episodes featuring The Monster Walks and The Corpse Vanishes that introduce Pigamortis Wrex.

Street Fighter - The Later Years

Street Fighter the Later Years…Sonic Prunes

A legacy of video games that shaped the arcade world from a dying out culture to that of a one on one battle of game play that would spawn other video games to follow suit. As well the legacy of Street Fighter spawned multiple video game sequels, comic books, cartoons and even a feature film. I remember playing street fighter in the arcade shop till my fingers bled and reciting the words and phrases such as “Sonic Boom” “Tiger Uppercut” & “Yoga Flame” to my friends in many conversations.

Now we all age, except those fortunate enough to have fountain the fountain of youth located in the Florida everglades…which will be another topic for another time. So as I said, we all age, we all get old and at some point we won’t be as “agile” as we once used to be. So should it be any different that our favorite characters of long ago should not be susceptible to the same aspect of life that we face??? My vote is no for a number of reasons, one reason being that we can’t live in the past as much as we would like to and the other reason that it is comedy gold. That’s right, watching our heroes/legend of long ago grow old and fumble about life is pure comedy, except in the case of Steven Segal running around as a make believe cop…now that was just plain sad, there’s a reason why they didn’t want him in The Expendables.

Ok, back to my point to old people, heroes and comic gold…I stumbled across a website about a year ago called CollegeHumor.com and it’s basically a sketch comedy website. If you have never been there to check out their stuff or you have only seen a couple of vides from them I highly recommend you go there or go back and look at everything they have to offer. They have a number of sketch comedies and even a few web series, all comedic and all well filmed, edited and presented. Sometimes I like to go to the site and click around at some of the things I have seen before when I am feeling a bit down…the stuff is just that funny/entertaining.

So in my most recent of returning to the site I discovered a 9 part mini-series called “Street Fighter The Later Years”, which presents the classically famous and original Street Fighters aged and put out to Pasteur by Capcom, the creator of the video game series. You see all your favorite characters and their current life status like Dhalsim being a Taxi driver, Blanka being an electrician, Guile pushing a hot dog cart and Chun Lee as a dry cleaner. So yeah, when you look at it, it is a bit stereotypical, but it’s done in a funny way.

Its starts with Zangief and Dhalsim meeting up by accident and talking about their old times and having one last tournament. They meet up with M Bison, who is completely aged and in a wheel chair, and convince him to help them train and hold one last tournament. Oh and for the record they are not only old, but they are way out of shape, on a number of levels and in some aspects they have lost their powers and spend some time getting them back. They spend a good chunk of time trying to hunt down the other members and it comes out that Capcom has pretty much cut off any royalties to them and wants them all dead.

The story line is very solid and entertains you at every twist and turn so it makes the mini episodes seem go fast and leaves you wanting more and more. There are a few twists and turns in the sub plots and while some were obvious there was one at the end that was not and that right there was well worth watching all of the episodes. The only bad thing I can say about the overall series is that they didn’t make more than 9 of them, I wish they had made more. I would love to see what they could do with other series like Street Fighter, maybe something in the line of Mortal Kombat the Later Years.

Again though I can’t stress enough how funny it is and how much you should check it out, so what are you waiting for???

Be safe and remember that the thousand hand slap is the cheapest and easiest move to kill someone with,
John Cannon

P.S. This past EVO a guy won the whole tournament with Zangief, the worst player next to Balrog, go figure.

DEAD HOOKER IN A TRUNK checks into the Late Night Horror Hotel...

What, pray tell, you may be asking yourselves, is the "late night horror hotel"? Well, boys and grrls, you are in for a treat. Rob Dimension, John Cannon, and Pigamortis are gents that we twisted twins have a lot in common with; sick yet humorous tastes, a passion for film, and a wicked awesome independent spirit. Their show, Late Night Horror Hotel, ensures thrills and chills, laughs and tears, and even features a devious and delicious cooking segment.

We were absolutely delighted to send gents of our own kind, with demented and gore~geous tastes, our beloved baby, our debut feature, DEAD HOOKER IN A TRUNK. A special thanks to mister Dimension for reviewing the film.

Want a little taste of what he thought of the Hooker pie...?

"The deeper I dig into the background of this film, the more I am delighted. Female directors and writers are finally getting respect they deserve and the go ahead to release some insane flicks; The Soska Twins, who apparently are very warped, just ripped a big hole in Woman’s Rights in film making. Jen and Sylvia Soska are Canadian twins who, while extremely cute are also, more importantly, extremely gifted. My hats off to them, Dead Hooker in a Trunk will be fully endorsed by me...the movie, that is." ~Rob Dimension, Late Night at the Horror Hotel

Check out their show, EVERY Thursday and Saturday Night at 12 Midnight on Philly's public access television, check out their site here, and check out the film review HERE.

A very special thanks to all the gents at the Late Night Horror Hotel!

Rob Dimension finds a Dead Hooker in a Trunk and smiles

Dead Hooker in a Trunk review
by: Rob Dimension

As I shift through my pile of Dvds of yesteryear and today, looking amongst the many to review…one title sticks out: “Dead Hooker in a Trunk”. The title alone makes me smile, for some that will disgust, but come on, we are Horror fans right? Think about it - a dead hooker, hot girls, gore and the simpleness of fishing line re-attaching an arm...how much better can it get?

The deeper I dig into the background of this film, the more I am delighted. My hats off to them, Dead Hooker in a Trunk will be fully endorsed by me...the movie, that is.

Dead Hooker in a Truck is one of those little films that could. A small cast of very determined talents and a cleverly written script make this a grand slam, at least for me. Did you ever wake up after a night from partying and not remember how a dead hooker gets into your trunk? Me either, for some...this can be a problem. That’s the premise, but that’s only the start.

Our four characters are The Bad Ass portrayed by Sylvia Soska and her sister the Geek, played by Jen Soska are joined by the Junkie (Rikki Gagne) and Mr. Goody Two Shoes (CJ Wallis) as they try and avoid the Police, a Brutal gang with torture on their mind and an insane Serial killer. Never knowing what’s next for the foursome is what makes this one a winner. Twists and turns and some incredible gore keep you watching, plus a fantastic musical score add to the excitement. The ability to not take themselves serious is also a big winner for me. You can tell that the cast loved making this film, it transfers to film perfectly.

For this being the Soska’s first feature film, I really cannot wait to see what they have coming next. This film is making its way around the Festivals and I will be willing to bet, it will get even more recognition. For more information on the Soska Twins and Dead Hooker in a Trunk, please visit www.twistedtwinsproductions.net
Here is the trailer. Enjoy!

Life Aquatic….ahhhh zee fishes are so, fish like - Movie Review

Life Aquatic….ahhhh zee fishes are so, fish like.

Do you remember sitting in Science class or even watching the local Public Television Stations as they showed The silent World, Cries for the Deep, Cousteau’s Odysse Series? No? You don’t? Am I the only one? I probably am, but at least I know that you have heard the world famous Jacques Cousteau, the master of the sea, his only rival being that of King Neptune himself. He revolutionized the world of the ocean as we know it and see it to this day. He co-developed the aqua-lung for scuba, and being a scuba diver myself I am eternally grateful to him for the possibilities to explore the undersea world. His ship the Calypso is almost as famous if not as famous as the Flying Dutchman or the Nautilus. He has written, directed and produced numerous movies, books and TV shows all on the world of the water and it’s magnificent undersea ways.

The movie Life Aquatic has nothing to do with any serious undersea work what so ever, it is however a pretty freakin funny comedy. The movies is centered around a man named Steve Zissou, who is the Cousteau of this film, as he travels the world looking for a possibly mythological shark, the jaguar shark who had killed his partner, almost Captain Ahab hunting down his white whale. The many exploits they have while hunting down the shark are absolutely hilarious, with pirates and the braking in of research facility to steal the good equipment and an espresso machine is priceless.

As he sails the sea on his boat the Balafonte he has one thing on his mind, the complete destruction of the jaguar shark, while filming his exploits all at the same time. Oh and did I mention that the investors don’t want the shark dead and his supposed son is trying to build a non-existent relationship all the while the British reporter is drinking and smoking away while being 5 months pregnant.

As well as all the misadventures he has his un-paid interns, his bonds stooge and estranged wife, who is the only one who can remember the Latin names of the fishes for the movie, to contend with on a daily basis. Oh and he has an absolute and fixation for dynamite and willing to do anything to get that great shot for his documentary.
It gives a comedic styling’s to Cousteau and what he has put out over the years. The cast is top notch and without a doubt some of the greatest straight faced comedians, they include such stars as Bill Murray, Jeff Goldblum, Owen Wilson and Willem Dafoe. It is a very intelligent comedy, in the aspect that it’s not direct in your face jokes, but rather a simple and even toned style.

I had seen this film in the video stores years ago and I thought to myself that it really wasn’t anything all that great and I figured it would be a bore fest. However I sat down and watched it one day, mainly because there was nothing better on TV and I didn’t feel like playing the PS3. I started to watch it and within the first 5 minutes I was hooked and I have to watch it all, even going as far as to cancel a physical therapy session just to finish the movie. Is that a sad thing for me to do….to me no, to you maybe, but it just shows how great a movie it is, so check it out.

Making the rounds....Doylestown and Brodheadsville - awesome times

My Weekend with Hack the Zombie

Okay, so Thursday as I am loading up the car...I hear "Yo! Dimension...when are we going to get some girls?" Instantly, I try to ignore my new found companion, but he is relentless. I explain to Hack that I am headed to the County Theater in Doylestown, PA for Cyborg1's release event of Marvel Universe vs. The Punisher written by Jonathan Maberry. He gets his mini book bag together, that had numerous paraphernalia inside, that just will NOT be discussed here and heads to the car....Okay, I guess he is going.
Synopsis directly from Jonathan Maberry

The short version is that a pathogen is accidentally released that was designed during the Cold War to allow humans to adapt to climate changes resulting from a nuclear or biological war. The pathogen changes human physiology so that it can survive in any environment; and it amps up the aggression/survival instincts. Unfortunately, it was never fully tested and it has dreadful, unforeseen side effects. The Punisher is there at the time of the pathogen's release and gets a "super dose" of it, which renders him immune to the effects that transform virtually everyone else on earth.

I had a chance to read this and I totally am loving it. Violence, fantastic artwork and a solid story that will keep Frank Castle busy. This is a 4 part mini series and should be an instant hit. Go get your copy of Issue #1 RIGHT Now...or I will send Hack to your house and you can deal with him....yuck. I will have a better review soon, probably the end of the week!

So, we arrive at the Theater and it was a blast, they showed Punisher War Zone. Hack, after offending numerous women in the lobby, decided to go sit and watch them movie. If Hack ever wants to show you his "Popcorn Box trick"...please just walk away. The County Theater is an great throw back to the theaters of old. It's quaint, the employees are all friendly and helpful..a great overall experience.

Look for our interview with Jonathan Maberry soon, he was an awesome guy to discuss Horror with. He has numerous titles coming out soon including Wanted Undead or Alive - Vampire Hunters. His co-Author Janice Gable Bashman was there too, she was very helpful and we look forward to hearing and possibly working with them again....very soon.

It's time for us to head out, I go round up my drunken "friend", who is now passed out in a puddle of his own urine...yes...he is pleasant to travel with. I now am going to gear up for Saturday's appearance at the Tattoo and Piercing show!

Eastern PA Tattoo and Piercing Show in Broadheadsville on Saturday, was so much fun. Live music, the atmosphere and everyone involved. I have the "Hearse" loaded with all kinds of goodies and I'm on my way...about 1/2 way, a face pops out of one of the boxes and you guessed it...Hack is coming with.

I go over the rules with Hack...yes, I actually had to establish rules.
  1. - No Drinking!!
  2. - No Rude or Unacceptable behavior
  3. - NO Talking!! The less he talks, the better.
I am under the impression that we have an understanding. We start to unpack and I see Hack already asking (rather loudly too) "Who wants to tattoo me? I'm famous!!." Luckily no one took him up on his offer and Hack remains tattoo free. At one point, as you can see, he bit me....yes..he is a biter!

We, both did our best to expose people to our show, well, I at least just tried to keep the exposure on our show. We made tons of new friends and everyone was extremely awesome (if those even go together) - plus we are hopeful to close a deal with the Altered Nightmare people. They have, what looks like, the scariest Haunted around.

Huge thanks goes out to Kevin Bond and his Wife Nanette (these 2 just did a fabulous job at running this event), Snort Gore, who has the SICKEST Frankenstein Tattoo I have ever seen, The good people at Strength in Hope, a suicide prevention reach out group and all the artists and bands. We are hoping to spotlight some of the bands music soon on the Tv show or right here...online!!

Stay tuned for more news, reviews and Interviews as we are really gearing up for what looks like an Incredible Halloween Season!! We are still taking Convention bookings and guest appearances. Just give us an email at LateNightHorrorHotel@Hotmail.com

Who ya gonna call…when the regulars are holdouts???

Who ya gonna call…when the regulars are holdouts.

If there’s something strange…in your neighborhood…who ya gonna call??? GHOSTBUSTERS!!! Well you would, if Bill Murray wasn’t acting like a total d-bag and realized that he is a comic genius and without him the Ghostbusters wouldn’t be the same. A man who spent his life entertaining the masses with such pieces as Stripes, Life Aquatic, Caddy Shack, Meatballs, Groundhog Day, Scrooged & of course Ghostbusters, you would think he would want to reprise a famous character role. However that doesn’t seem possible as he has gone off the deep, fired his agent & manager and now has a 1-800 number in order to reach him then he barely checks the voicemail system anyways. Of course you then have Dan Aykroyd who has gone “bye bye” in his mind and I think honestly believes that he is a Ghostbuster in real life. So with those 2 major Ghostbusters sidelined because they are insane and can’t come to an agreement for a 3rd film a Mr. Hank Braxton decided to make his own fan film entitled Return of the Ghostbusters.

The synopsis is as such:
The mile high city is rocked when an ancient Egyptian menace comes to town, and the Denver Ghostbusters must return to save the universe once more.  In this sequel to the internet cult hit Freddy VS Ghostbusters, the boys in gray find themselves up to their eyeballs in spooks, as a greater threat looms on the horizon...

I have to admit I didn’t think too much of it when I first heard about it, I was never in love with fan films and had never really seen one that peaked my interest. So I as much as I was not looking forward to it I was such a fan of Ghostbusters I figured I would watch it. Heck if you said the Ghostbusters were in the new Santa Conquers the Martians I would suck and watch that film again…not willingly, but I would.

As I began to watch the film I fell in love instantly, the music the film quality, the editing and the special effects were absolutely fantastic. I sat there thinking to myself “Why isn’t this the next one in the film series, seriously???” The whole thing was crafted so perfectly and it made me a fan of Ghostbusters once again. Despite the real Ghostbusters actors like Murry and Aykroyd the people of this fan film took the dropped ball and ran with it. They didn’t try to be exact carbon copies of the iconic Ghostbuster characters we all know and love, they did their own thing and it worked perfectly.

This movie was put out in 2007 and according to their website took a little over 2 years to complete and the film was made up of volunteers doing the acting, special effects and overall filming.  Now that is true love for what you are doing and trying to do as a fan. To spend 2 years creating a fan film based upon an icon film is true and pure dedication at its highest level.

Now when they finally get off their butts and decide to do the 3rd Ghostbusters my vote is for them to bring the people in who made Return of the Ghostbusters because they won’t phone it in. They will take it seriously and put forth the effort the original cast did in the very first Ghostbusters.

I highly recommend seeing this fan film if you haven’t yet, because if you are a fan or former fan of the franchise please check this movie out and support fan films.

Be safe and make sure your proton pack is charged,
John Cannon

Hack The Zombie makes his appearance

Hack The Zombie makes his appearance

On our latest episode of Late Night at the Horror Hotel, in post production right now, we host "The Corpse Vanishes" starring Bela Lugosi. Rob Dimension and Pigamortis really did the unthinkable!!!
After being left with a disaster of a mess on the counter, behind the counter and even under the counter in the Hotel lobby, John Cannon was stuck cleaning up after the two knuckleheads when he stumbled across the "Book of the Dead".

It seems that Dimension and Pigamortis tried to revive a plant, that was plastic, hence their FAILURE and John put 2 + 2 together. He figured out that a walking, re-animated corpse is now a permanent resident at the Hotel.

So much for doing laundry...we now have a Laundry Room of Resurrection in the Hotel basement!!!

Early footage has surfaced of Hack, one can only wonder what else is in store for this show!!

The Philadelphia Experiment…not so much brotherly love.

The Philadelphia Experiment…not so much brotherly love.

A long long time ago in a land not so far away there was a magical boat, a naval destroyer in fact, called the SS Eldridge. What made this boat so magical was that it could do time travel teleportation from Philadelphia to Virginia. Now this magical boat had a dark side to it as when it would complete it’s time travel teleportation the innocent crew would be fused into the metal of the ship to be a part of it for all eternity, not unlike that of the crew of Davey Jones. However this magical boat would be considered an abomination and secret that needed to be hid by the evil men within a “government agency”. To this day the magical boat has lived in legend and lore to baffle those of the strongest and sometimes weakest mind.

Does this sound like such a far fetched story that could only be created by scfi writers, deranged astrophysics professors or even a father telling his boy about such stories around a campfire??? Well I hate to say this, but according to a good number of people thus story is much more fact than fiction. I am of course speaking about the dreaded Philadelphia Experiment or also known as Project Rainbow, now sure why the Project Rainbow, but I’ll go with it.

The experiment was based upon Albert Einstein’s unified field theory, and for you non-geeks out there; what that basically means is the ability to teleport and time travel all at the same time. So the stuff you see on star trek with the classic line “Beam me up Scotty” that’s what this was about, but with the twist of time travel thrown into the mix. This experiment was headed up by the US Navy and was applied onto the US Destroyer USS Eldridge, in the dock yards of Philadelphia Pennsylvania in 1943. The experiment used the manipulation of magnetic fields with the help of a number of electromagnetic generators to engulf the ship in a blanket of bent light waves.

A few tries at the experiment had been done and to a point was successful, but the one experiment that stuck out the most was when the ship disappeared and the reappeared in Virginia and then back to Philadelphia. While some sailors complained about nausea the worst horror was yet to be found, some of the men were embedded right into the metal of the ship itself. They were crying in pain and agony and eventually had to be put down and forever sealed as part of the metal structure. Upon further investigation a number of crew members had disappeared completely never to be found and most would go on to suffer severe mental disorders. The US Government decided this was a failed experiment on epic proportions never to be done again; they cut the men who were fused to the metal out and then replaced the metal so no evidence was found. As well they put the rest of the men into Psychiatric Hospitals and did everything they could in order to cover the whole event up. This would have worked if it had not been for a researcher who stumbled across some recently declassified paperwork regarding anti-gravity propulsion and a mysterious letter from a man named Carlos Allende who spilled the beans on the Philadelphia Experiment due to his role as one of the few crew members who managed to not suffer from the most severe side effects for the experiment.

Now I can continue on with the original fairy tale I started with or the second one…that’s right the whole thing is a fairy tale. Now as I have stated in the past I would love for this stuff to be 100% true and I would be one of the first to say there is a conspiracy with our government, but I can’t in this case. First off it’s only one man’s research into a speculated idea of Einstein’s theories and they may have been considered by the government as pretty much everything is, but he had no real proof or documentation of anything in regards to it. As well the USS Eldridge was still in service for many years after the supposed event took place and at no time was there any radiation levels, weird anomalies or evidence that metal had been removed and replaced. The only man to really come sort of close to pulling off something of this magnitude was Nikola Tesla, who we will cover at a later date.

The overall time lines of the events just do not make sense, case in point the time the experiment was supposed to have happened the ship was still docked in NY. Could the ship logs have been falsified, sure if you want to go that route then let’s look at the fact that the men who were first stationed on the boat, when the experiment was to have happened, were interviewed and the USS Eldridge had never dock in Philadelphia at any time of it’s service.

The old saying seems to be true when it comes to this one, if it sounds too good to be true then it probably is. This is such a great story to tell and if it were true it would be even better, however this story only lives on in the minds of storytellers, Hollywood and conspiracy theorists. I know quite a few people who would argue with me that this was 100% real and the government is covering it up to keep the public dumb and unaware of the true technology we have. Do I agree we have some awesome technology we don’t know about yet…yes I do, I would stupid not to, but hats why they hire the best and brightest, in order to create these things. Never believe everything you hear and do some research and use your gray matter called a brain to figure out the facts.
